The truck has very few miles on her since completion and she is a very clean example of an upgraded 54 pickup; very desirable. The running gear is refurbished but stock; manual drum brakes, straight axle, manual steering and a non-modified frame. The power plant in this truck is significant. She is powered by a 1967 high performance 390cid - 2bbl motor and she runs and drives very well. She is a very good driver with a great feel for the road, she drives smooth and would be comfortable driven on weekends or as a daily driver.

This 1954 ford f-100 pickup is a one-family-owned maine truck that has been lovingly restored and cared for its whole life. On june 5, 1954, the original owner of this ford took possession of his new purchase at the ripley and fletcher company dealership in south paris, maine. For the next two decades, this pickup faithfully served its owner as he managed his construction business and transported the family to the summer camp on the lake. In the mid-1970s, its service winding down, the truck was retired to storage until july 28,1991, when it was acquired by the grandson, who was determined to resurrect his grandfather’s truck. For the next five years, this well-loved family pickup underwent a complete restoration. Every aspect of this truck was dismantled and repaired or replaced as needed. Restoration work included complete engine, transmission, and rear end rebuilds, and all systems including fuel, cooling, brake, and electrical were rebuilt to like-new. All the cylinder heads were resurfaced and new valves and valve seats installed. Other work included replacing the steering column and adding new king pins, a new starter, and a new generator. A full restoration also occurred on the body, with a repaint in the original color. In 2014, the transmission mounts were changed, and new u joints, a new clutch and a turned flywheel assembly were added. At that time, new points and new valve cover gaskets were installed, and a coolant flush was performed. Single-family-owned pickup trucks that have been cared for like this are hard to find. The original bill of sale from ripley and fletcher, co., and the ford service policy in the original owner’s name are included with the sale. Sold with a maine registration.
